Leah Long received her Ph.D. in Classical Art and Archaeology from the University of Michigan. Since 2003, she has been active in archaeological field projects in Turkey, where she was a member of the Aphrodisias Excavations and Aphrodisias Regional Survey projects, and is now working with an interdisciplinary Polish-Italian team documenting ancient marble quarries in western Turkey. Her research focuses on Greco-Roman stone exploitation, and its intersections with urbanism, economy, and artistic production in the ancient world.
