An Arkansas Senate committee has delayed a bill that would require public school students to watch a human development video, causing the proposal to stall.

Senate Bill 3 seeks to remove affirmative action programs and prohibit "preferential treatment" in the state. It now returns to the Senate to approve an amendment before heading to the governor’s desk.

The bill would require schools to show students a video depicting the development of a human embryo that critics say is biased and scientifically inaccurate.

With the public health emergency that was in place during the pandemic, states will see possible reductions in Medicaid rolls.
