WalletHub, a personal finance website, released a study on Monday ranking Arkansas State University-Mountain Home as the best community college in the nation.
The study compared over 715 community colleges across 17 key indicators. The goal was to find which schools students can attend to receive the best education at the cheapest rates. ASU-Mountain Home received a total score of 66.13, beating out Stella and Charles Guttman Community College in New York (65.28), State Technical College of Missouri (64.71), and Alexandria Technical & Community College in Minnesota (64.16).

4 other community colleges in Arkansas were in the top 20 in the nation. Those included Southern Arkansas University Tech in Camden (61.5), South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado (60.51), North Arkansas College in Harrison (60.24), and Ozarka College in Melbourne (60.16).
The five schools were the top five within the state of Arkansas. In the top 10 of the list for the state, three of them were located in Northeast Arkansas: Black River Technical College (60.04), Arkansas State University-Beebe (60), and the University of Arkansas Community College-Batesville (58.82).
WalletHub also looked at entire states with the best community college systems. Arkansas and Tennessee were in the top 10, with Arkansas ranking fourth and Tennessee ranking eighth. Missouri came in at 32.
The state with the best community college systems was South Dakota.
